Visual Art Comprehensive – NEW THIS YEAR! This is a year-long course. Students who successfully complete the year of high school art in middle school will be awarded 1 high school credit, and may begin studio art courses in high school. A numerical grade will be recorded each semester on the middle school report card. NOTE: The opportunity to study visual arts at the high school level in middle school is exciting, and should be taken seriously. This course adds to your child’s workload and requires daily application, sixty minutes of logged studio time each week outside of class, limited online performance tasks and a digital portfolio maintained at school. Students without access to a home computer will be given access to school computers to complete online assignments. Successful students need to be highly motivated in the visual arts, know how to plan their time efficiently, and stay the course. This course is taught by Mrs. Gaut.
Please fill out application and turn in 3 pieces of artwork on or before Friday May 3rd to me in the art room (#711)
This is my 13th year teaching art and it is my passion to introduce art to the young minds in our community! I am looking forward to another fabulous year at Durham!
