I am so excited to get the year started off! I have attached the syllabus and sketchbook order form for class. I will also be sending home a printed copy to share with your family. I have been spending the summer running and creating art. I hope that all of you enjoyed your summer and were able to participate in things that you love. See you on Tuesday at Meet and Greet.

I want to take the time to recognize Andy Chen. He is a respectful and talented artist and student. His beautiful work is inspirational and has been showcased in the art room, Durham hallways, and community art galleries. I am proud to announce Andy as 2017-18 artist of the year!!
So proud of my students that came out to KSU last Saturday to compete.
Your work was very creative and I am so excited that we took first place. Can not wait to see what we do for Chalktoberfest!! So excited to share that we took 1st and 3rd place in the 7th grade sculpture exhibit. Thank you to all of you that participated and created artwork made of recycled materials. I am thrilled that we had so many students showcasing their work at KSU's art festival.
This is a great opportunity for you to show your artwork to the community.
The gallery is accepting up to 25 ready to hang medium sized pieces (no larger than 18”x 24”) of artwork per school. 3D pieces are also accepted. If you are interested, please come see me and I would be happy to take the work to the art gallery for you. I also have tags that must go on the work as a label. I will take the first 25 pieces that are submitted. Looking forward to seeing your creativity!! Drop off work to Mrs. Gaut by March 6th Exhibit Dates: March 13-April 6 Reception: Thursday, March 15 6-8pm @ Big Shanty Art Station in Kennesaw |
