Students are working on designing their canvas shoe or canvas item.
Students selected a theme for their product and are applying color with sharpie and acrylic paint. Students that plan to wear their shoe need to seal them.

Students chose their subject matter for their composition.
Students then turned their image into a mosaic using paint swatches. Students are creating Surreal 2D pieces that incorporate hands as part of their subject matter.
Surreal Art was popular in the 1920's through the 1930's and the artworks depicts a dreamlike quality with unusual/bizarre placement of objects. Students are producing 2D self-portraits using their choice of medium.
Due Wednesday Jan. 24th Students will bring home a syllabus they need signed on Day ONE. We use sketchbooks daily and students will need one Monday January 8th. I will also send home an order form for sketchbooks. You may order from the art department or get one from any store. Looking forward to starting 3rd quarter!!!
Thursday December 7th at Allatoona High School
Doors open at 7 p.m. Presentation at 7:30 p.m. Please make sure you come out to support our Durham Artists as well as artist from Pickett's Mill and Allatoona High School. Don't forget to bring in your canvas shoes by Monday November 27th
Any size will work and you may make them for someone else :) Students are learning about artist José Guadalupe Posada and Day of the Dead. Students are creating self portraits inspired by Posada's work. Students are also creating a mixed media piece that incorporates printmaking and value drawing of skeletons.
Students are creating 2D SURREAL artwork. Students must incorporate at least one realistic hand gesture drawing in their composition. Students will critique the work of a variety of Surreal artists before producing their own. **5 preliminary hand drawings (all 5 must be different!) **preliminary surreal world sketch **Final art work must fill page, show depth with overlapping of objects, show value of color, add texture and details to work, objects must look realistic but placement or scale will be unrealistic! (EX: an elephant that fits in the palm of a humans hand) DUE: Friday Nov. 3rd at the end of class
