“Creativity takes courage.” Henri Matisse
Students will be creating a 2 page spread in their sketchbook of a landscape, inspired by artist Anna Mary Robertson Moses.

Students are creating geometric forms in 1 pt perspective
Students will write their name in 3D using 1 pt. perspective Students will work up to designing a 3D art gallery using art reproductions from artists they will choose and research. Students are creating a mixed media print using a 9x12 piece of scratch board to jump start their design. Students will print on a piece of 12x 18 paper then continue to their drawing to the edges of their canvas. Students will then be using oil pastels in the extension of their composition onto a 12x 18 paper.
Students are creating artwork reflecting the theme: "ARTiculate Your Story."
Y.A.M. stands for Youth Art Month which in in March each year. Our students are participating in the GA Flag competition which created the theme for our drawings. Students will be receiving their schedules on Monday morning in homeroom. If your child is in art class, they will bring home a syllabus on Monday. Please make sure to read required materials. Students are to bring a sketchbook, pencils, and their agenda each day. I am looking forward to having an AWESOME and CREATIVE quarter! Students are creating ads with a slogan, logo, character, and product.
We will be outside all this week and next week working on nature pieces. Students will create a series of 2D drawings and paintings of trees and nature. Vocabulary Words: Emily Carr, Landscapes, Observational Drawing, Perspective OBSERVATIONAL DRAWING: Drawing exactly what you see!!
